Keith Johnson of Kettering enjoyed a morning boat session recently and caught four rainbows from around the weed beds at Robbo’s cabin on suspender minkie’s fished on a floating line. The Last Cast Angling Club visited the Eyebrook from West Lothian last weekend and organizer Nigel Muckle caught the best fish a lean 6lb brown trout taken on a gremlin. Ian Drummond of Whitburn also caught a 3lb brown trout on a nymph. Eyebrook regular Brian Skey of Aldwinkle caught six rainbows while boat fishing on his usual diawl bach. Horace Wood of Sapcote caught seven rainbows on a combination of white lure, diawl bach and daddy long legs.
Pike fishing began at the beginning of the month at Eyebrook with lures and sea dead baits, one the best fish caught weighing 20lb was caught by Andy Baldock of Northampton on a lure, Adam Ford of Milton Keynes also caught a well conditioned 16lb pike, again taken on a lure. Jobe Burnham caught a fit 13lb pike, many pike anglers have caught numbers of jack with no other significant fish captures reported to date.

The English Disabled Fly Fishers Association Fur and Feather Boat Competition will be held on Wednesday 19th October 2016. All are welcome, please bring a prize for the table and normal day permits will apply. All monies raised at this event will be donated to our chosen charity The English Disabled Fly Fishers Association, Registered Charity No 800452

The Eyebrook Fur and Feather Boat Competition will be held on Sunday 30th October 2016, the last day of fishing at Eyebrook for 2016. All are most welcome to this event, normal day permits and boat prices will apply plus a £5 entry fee, and please don’t forget to bring a prize for the table. All monies raised at this event will be donated to our chosen charity The English Disabled Fly Fishers Association, Registered Charity No 800452.
