The fishing at Eyebrook proved a little challenging for Jim Vasey and Jeff Currie who both still enjoyed their weeks fishing recently, as did Mike Firth and Arthur Whale. Martin Stretton of Corby experienced a ‘cracking’ day’s fishing and caught ten hard fighting rainbows from the main basin mostly taken with a viva fished on a floating line. Season ticket holder Rob Inglis of Broughton boat fished a morning session and caught six decent rainbows on a combination of pineapple blob, red and black cruncher and orange- bodied daddy. Andy Milner and Party enjoyed their fishing at Eyebrook with many fish caught drifting the main basin. Pete Line of Ropsley took three rainbows and also returned a nice 3lb 8oz brown trout. After a pretty reasonable summer it’s that time of the season with the water now cooling and weed beds slowly but surely dying back, the resident trout are being more frequently caught on daddies and fry patterns.
Pike fishing with lures and sea dead baits started at the fishery this week, the best fish recorded to date was a pike weighing 16lb caught by Adam Ford of Milton Keynes.
